The leadership of the League Management Company organizers of the Nigeria Professional Football League has advised the Rivers State FA Chairman, Christopher Green that he cannot be the Sole Administrator of Rivers United FC, as this constitutes a conflict of interest and negates the NFF integrity directives.

It could be recalled that Green has been addressed severally as the Sole Administrator of Rivers United, a situation the LMC frowns at.

In a memo to the General Manager of Rivers United and copied to the Secretary of state government, the LMC said the appointment infers and cannot be recognized by the LMC because it is in variance with various articles of the NFF Club licensing directives and LMC framework.

Recently, the LMC queried the appointment of former Deputy Speaker of Oyo state House of Assembly Babatunde Olaniyan as the sole administrator for 3sc is invalid and will not be recognized

Gov Makinde had last week announced the appointment of the former lawmakers as a sole administrator for the team but the LMC in a letter dated feb 26, 2022 said the appointment is at variance with the provisions of Article 12 of the NFF Club Licensing Regulations, and runs afoul of the contemplation of Rule A6 of the Framework and Rules of the Nigeria Professional Football League.

Salihu Abubakar, LMC COO said the appointment infers that all residual powers and responsibilities relating to the administration of the club will be vested in a single individual, instead of a constituted board of directors or group of administrators.

“Consequent to the above, the purported appointment is invalid and will not be acknowledged by the League Management Company (LMC). It is therefore advised that this appointment be reviewed to ensure compliance with the provisions of extant football regulations.

“The above is for your information and compliance”
