The League Management Company (LMC) has reminded the management of 3SC that they cannot sack the likes of Ebenezer Odeyemi, Charles Tambe, Kola Daniel among others that may have signed for the club for the season.

Referring to its earlier memo to all clubs, the LMC warned against the indiscriminate sack which runs contrary to various articles of the LMC.

The memo signed by the Chief Operating Officer of the League body, Salihu Abubakar said a player that is less than 18 years can be sacked.

That such can only happen if the player has spent over 10 years in the club. “Where a club and player mutually agree to mutually terminate the player contract, they immediately notify the LMC to that effect (Article B9. 52)”.

Also quoting, Article 9. 59 the LMC informed the clubs of the various offences that can lead to the termination of the player’s contract.

The clubs were reminded that the various articles in the framework work were made for the sanctity of players’ contracts.

It will be recalled that less than 48 hours after Ebenezer Odeyemi was brutalized by a team of the Nigeria soldiers, in Ibadan, the power playing was sacked alongside Tambe Charles, Gored Oghenetega, Wasiu Alalade, Kola Daniel, Yusuf Habeeb, Anas Mohammed, Olumide Ayide Henry, Abubakre Adeyemi, Anene Francis, Kehinde Adedipe, Olasunkanmi Quadry, Amusan Taiye, Adelani Seun, Onwubuche Chimankpa, Wellington Ehiabhi, Meshack Amos

The club claimed in a press statement signed by its media officer, Tosin Omojola that the 17 players were relieved due to poor performance.

“After a review of the performance of the Oluyole Warriors in the 18 week old 2021/22 season of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), the management of the team has decided to release the said players.

“The affected players were released by the Ibadan soccer lords, after the technical crew painstakingly reviewed their performances, which fell short of expectations,” the club said.

Four of the players, goalkeeper Tambe Charles, Anas Mohammed, Abubakar Adeyemi and Anene Francis, have been with the team for more than two seasons, while the remaining players are among those recruited before the commencement of the ongoing season.

Meanwhile, LMC Chairman, Shehu Dikko, has vowed to enforce the body rule regarding players' contract

“We are actually waiting for the official complaints from the players. I only read it online, as soon as the players lay down their complaints with evidence or termination of appointment, they will definitely be protected.

“Clubs must stop the incessant sacking of players, most especially, players under contract. We have this circular in place since 2015 and we have religiously enforced it”.

He went further to give clarity on regulations that guides the termination of players' contract.

“The sacked 3SC players must be protected”, the 2nd NFF Vice President concluded.
