Smart city FC of Lagos President, Adeboye Anthony Adeyinka, has encouraged his players with some cool cash, paying them their matches bonuses and also doubling their weekly allowances, despite fa cup loss to Real Sapphire, on Thursday, at the Maracana stadium.

The kind-hearted chairman decided to pay the players, to encourage them for future tasks ahead.

Adeboye told the boys about payments, after their Friday morning training session, to the shock and surprise of the players, who were amazed, amid joyful chants, after the pronouncement by the reliable chairman. 

Adeboye further said, that, as a father to the players, it's quite important, to note that, in football, you don't win all the time, saying, sometimes, you win, draw, or lose in the round leather game. 

"I want to say, my players are very important to me, and they deserve the best." 

" They lost a game, we can't crucify them it's part of football, you don't win all the time. I have decided to pay them what they get as match bonuses and also double their weekly allowances too" he said.
 
" We know sometimes football can be very cruel, my boys did their best, but, it was just a bad day. We have spoken to the boys to put that loss behind them and focus on the task ahead, which is the NNL, that is around the corner, and all we aim to pick a ticket to the NPFL" he added.

 "I also want to thank, the coaches, the management, and our numerous fans in Lagos and across the country for their support and love, we promise to continue doing our best to make them happy always" he concluded.

This is the first time the former Lagos FA Cup champions, will be knocked out in their first game in the competition since they started participating in the tournament in the past four years.
