La Liga ask court to cancel Mbappe's mega-contract' at PSG

La Liga have reportedly asked Paris' administrative court to cancel Kylian Mbappe's new PSG contract.

The 23-year-old signed a new lucrative deal with the French champions in May after months of discussions with Real Madrid over a potential transfer.

Mbappe eventually opted to stay in Paris, but now, according to AFP via 90min, the Spanish federation have lodged appeals against PSG, Ligue 1 and French football's financial watchdog DNCG after claims PSG should not have been able to finance the forward's new contract.

It seemed for months that Mbappe was going to sign for Madrid until he suddenly put pen to paper on a new three-year deal to stay at PSG.

Juan Branco, La Liga's lawyer, announced after the deal was signed that the division would be taking action, claiming DNCG shouldn't have approved PSG's finances and the LFP - the authority for Ligue 1 and 2, should not have given the contract the green light.

La Liga have are said to have filed to rescind DNCG's approval along with calling for the contract to be cancelled.

Both requests were reportedly turned down immediately due to a lack of urgency, but will be examined in the long term, with a result not expected before the end of the 2022-23 season.

Branco has also promised to go to the European authorities, claiming PSG falsified balance sheets and voluntarily far-fetched projected budgets.

They are also said to accuse PSG of covering up a system with sponsors that directly link to Qatar.

Via BeSoccer, Branco said: 'We're looking for a new decision like that of Bosman's law which liberated the market.

'Now what we want is for the market to be regulated and that the very strict financial rules in the Spanish La Liga are expanded across all of Europe.'
