Juventus turns attention to Lookman as fund stalls interest in Osimhen

Juventus have opted against signing Man Utd-linked Victor Osimhen from Napoli and have instead shortlisted Atalanta danger man Ademola Lookman, according to a report from Tuttosport.

Juventus are looking to sign a new No.9 this summer, with reports from Italy confirming that the club wants to part ways with Dusan Vlahovic. One of the names the Bianconeri were linked to was Osimhen, who has a contract with Napoli until 2027 but has spent this season on loan in Turkey.

However, Napoli remains determined not to sell their striker to an Italian club, particularly not to Juventus, fearing a repeat of the Gonzalo Higuain saga.

Complicating matters further, no release clause could ease the process, as the €70 million clause only applies to foreign clubs. Napoli’s sporting director, Giovanni Manna, is in talks with Manchester United regarding a potential sale, which could also pave the way for Rasmus Hojlund’s move to Napoli.

As a result, Juventus have increasingly focused its attention on Atalanta forward Lookman, who has emerged as a viable target. Lookman, a player long on sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli’s radar, was discussed in detail during a dinner with Atalanta’s sporting director, Tony D’Amico, earlier this year following a match between the two sides.

Juve will take on Lecce on Saturday, April 12, in what will be new manager Igor Tudor's third game in charge. The Italian giants are currently in fifth position on the Serie A table, one point below the top four.
