Just like Chelsea Osimhen's wage demand may push Man Utd away, while Galatasaray is offering €15M

Manchester United target Victor Osimhen is expected to leave Napoli in the summer, having been touted for a move to Old Trafford for many months - though his wage demands could put Ruben Amorim's side off despite his keenness to join the Red Devils as his wage demand halts Chelsea’s interest.

Osimhen became a key player for Napoli after joining the club in 2020, scoring 76 goals in just 133 games for the Gli Azzurri - including a 26-goal haul in Serie A back in 2022/23 that saw them win the Scudetto for the first time this century.

But his loan spell at Galatasaray has put him back on the market, and although that could see United take advantage, his wages could be a stumbling block.

The report by ESPN states that Osimhen is targeting a move to the Premier League once his loan spell at Turkish Super Lig giants Galatasaray comes to an end in the summer - and United are one of those who are looking for a move for the striker ahead of next season.

The "world-class" striker is expected to move in the summer after he was ousted by Napoli, and one source has told ESPN that there is no agreement built into his loan deal at Galatasaray for a permanent move - which has opened the door for other clubs to land him on a permanent deal.

Osimhen is thought to favour a move to England or Juventus, with United among the clubs looking for a new striker after poor seasons by Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee for the Red Devils this season.

But any move for Osimhen could falter, with the Nigerian expecting to demand a wage of €11m (£ 9.5 million) per year after tax, according to the report - which works out at around a wage of £360,000 per week before tax.

That has seen Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap move above Osimhen in their list of priorities this summer due to the England youth striker likely warranting less of a wage - with United actively trying to bring their wage bill this summer.

Delap will be available for £ 40 million if Ipswich are relegated to the Championship, with his wage demands being significantly lower than Osimhen's - and as such, that could halt a move for the Napoli man unless those demands are reduced drastically.

Meanwhile, Galatasaray are fully aware of the talent they’ve got on its hands, and most at the club want him to stick around next season.

The Turkish side’s leadership is already working on putting together a deal to make his stay permanent—and they’ve let him know he could earn a salary that matches offers from five major clubs.

AS reports, citing club sources, that Galatasaray know they’ll need to put up €70 million to sign him from Napoli. They’re also prepared to offer the Lagos-born striker a three-year deal worth €15 million net per season, plus bonuses. There are also clubs in the Arab world reportedly willing to pay him at least twice what he would earn in Turkey.

Still, Okan Buruk and his staff remain hopeful. The player feels a strong connection to the club, and together, they’re working on a project aimed at pushing into the Champions League quarterfinals.
