Iwobi Eyes Dream Start Against Tunisia

Super Eagles and Everton midfielder, Alex Iwobi hopes interim coach Austin Eguavoen can tweak his tactics to accommodate him in Sunday's AFCON 2021 second-round clash against The Carthage Eagles of Tunisia.

Nigeria host The Carthage Eagles at the Roumde Adjia stadium in a mother of all clash this Sunday, and Iwobi is looking forward to getting a starting shirt against their North African opponents.

The former Arsenal star was among eight new faces that prosecuted Nigeria's 2-0 win over Guinea Bissau last Wednesday where he gave a good account of himself. Iwobi is hoping that his sublime performance against The Djurtus will be more than enough to earn him a starting shirt against Tunisia on Sunday.

" I'm looking forward to Sunday's clash and I hope I get a starting shirt, but what matters now is the victory irrespective of who starts the game.

" We are all aware of the fact that we must be prepared to face anybody if we want to the AFCON. The team spirit and mentality are good, and that is what we need to win our games," Iwobi said.
