Super Eagles and Everton midfielder, Alex Iwobi, has admitted he would like to pen a new contract at Premier League club, Everton.

Iwobi’s current contract will expire in 2024 and the Toffees have opened talks with his representatives over a new deal.

Everton reportedly want the 26-year-old to commit to a new five-year contract.

The former Arsenal player has stated that staying at Goodison Park remains his priority.

“I want to win as many things as I can with this club. That is why I came here, the club was very ambitious and it still is. I’d like to stay,” Iwobi told the ECHO.

Iwobi has been an ever-present in the Premier League as one of only four players – alongside Vitali Mykolenko, James Tarkowski and Demarai Gray to start all 13 games for Everton this season.

Meanwhile, Super Falcons star Rasheedat Ajibade enjoyed a remarkable run last month in the Spanish Liga, where she scored 4 goals in four matches and her efforts have earned her nomination for Atletico Madrid’s player of the month for October.

Ajibade is known for her pace, tireless pressing and the ability to create space for her teammates to run into and even provided a timely reminder of how ruthless she can be in front of goal by putting four past Huelva.

Her four goals in seven league games for Atletico Madrid this season, puts her firmly in the driving seat to eclipse her best tally of 10 goals in 23 games.

Ajibade faces a strong test for the accolade as she will be up against Defender Ainhoa Moraza, Brazilian attacker Ludmila Silva, Spanish attacker Garcia Sheila, and Argentine Midfielder Estefania Banini.

Elsewhere Super Eagles duo, Iwobi and Joe Aribo saw their market value move up in the latest release by the popular valuation and statistics online platform, Transfermarkt.

Iwobi has been in scintillating form for Premier League club, Everton this season.

Everton have scored 11 goals in the league this term and Iwobi has been involved in half of those.

The midfielder has scored one goal and provided six assists in 14 league appearances for the Toffees.

The 26-year-old linked up with Everton from Arsenal in 2019.

His compatriot, Aribo also saw an increase in his market value.

Aribo, who joined Southampton for £4.5m plus add-ons this summer is now valued at €15m.

He has scored two goals in 13 league appearances for the Saints.
