Inter and Arsenal to battle for Kayode’s signature

 Serie A giant Inter-Milan and EPL club Arsenal are set to battle for the signature of Nigeria-born Italy defender Michael Kayode in the summer.

 According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Fiorentina defender Kayode is one of Inter‘s primary targets to replace Denzel Dumfries, provided the Dutch wing-back doesn’t sign a contract extension.

Dumfries’ Inter contract runs out in June 2025 and talks over a new deal have been put on hold.

Gazzetta confirms the Netherlands international will leave in the summer if he fails to sign a contract extension and Fiorentina defender Kayode is among the primary targets on the Nerazzurri’s agenda.

Inter have scouted Kayode several times this season and are preparing for a meeting with the defender’s entourage.

The promising right-back has also emerged as a transfer target for Arsenal, but he recently signed a contract extension with the Tuscans until June 2028.

Kayode, who scored the winner for Italy U19 in last summer’s European Championship Final against Portugal, currently earns €400,000 per season. However, his salary will rise to €1m in the final year of his contract at the Stadio Franchi.
