Heartland says former coach’s attack on club malicious
Fidelis Ilechukwu

The management of Heartland FC has described the attack on it by former Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu as malicious.

Ilechukwu had labelled the club management as “callous and wicked” akin to witchcraft.

In a swift reaction, contained in a press release, Heartland described the statement as one borne of ignorance and unprofessional conduct.

Furthermore, Heartland wish to state that Ilechukwu was not engaged on the social page and as such he cannot resign or argue his case via social media.

The contract between the club and Ilechukwu stipulates a monthly salary payoff in the event of the club disengaging him and vice versa.

Ilechukwu was legally contracted to Heartland for three seasons before he left for Jos instead of making use of the official channels of communication alongside his attorney who is in possession of correspondence between him and the club Ilechukwu, prefers to throw caution to the wind by making unsubstantiated claims in the media in a bid to de-market the club.

Finally, Heartland management does not wish to join issues with Ilechukwu but will advise him to utilize the proper communication channels and dialogue with the club. He must not burn the bridge between him and the club he served while it lasted.

Heartland believes in the dignity of labour, and will not be a party to denying Ilechukwu his legitimate wages while he worked at the club but that must be done according to the books to ensure probity and accountability.

The club therefore will resist any form of bullying, using media propaganda and cheap blackmail to arm-twist her into doing the bidding of some individuals.
