"He resurrects " Adesanya regains world title in style

Nigeria's Isreal Adesanya has regained his world middleweight title by posting a second-round knock-out win against Alex Pereira early Sunday morning in Miami.

The two-time champions lost the belt to Pereira less than a year ago in a fifth round but the Nigerian called for a rematch and won the title in style by knocking out the Brazilian cold with his back on the canvass.

Adesanya turned defense to attack with three good big face hooks which left Pereira passed out for some seconds and drew the attention of his medical team before he could be ' resurrected '.

It was a cool revenge for Israel Adesanya claiming his first victory over Pereira having lost the previous three fights against the Brazilian.

Pereira outpointed Adesanya and knocked out the Nigerian-New Zealander across two kickboxing bouts before the pair transitioned to MMA.

Adesanya was the first to make the move, going on to reign as a dominant UFC champion until he lost his belt to Pereira in their first MMA meeting, five months ago.

Perhaps, Adesanya saved the best for the last as Pereira's first title defense in the division turned out to be a nightmare with Adessnya having the last laugh with a very loud celebration.
