Thiago Silva was heavily criticised as one of Chelsea's worst players of the day as Brentford defeated the London Blues by 4-1, but his wife Belle, has stoutly defended her husband in a social media video she posted online shortly after the match saying " he is not a machine".

It was a meltdown for Chelsea FC at Standford bridge on Saturday afternoon after Brentford defeated Chelsea by 4-1.

The Blues were blown out despite going ahead through Antonio Rudiger three minutes into the second half as their London neighbour took over proceedings with rejuvenated Christian Eriksen sizing the initiative.

Vitaly Janet restored parity from close range in the 50th minute and Eriksen shot Brentford ahead in the 54th.

Two more goals, one more for Vitaly in the 69th minute before Yoane Wissa put an icing on the cake with three minutes left to play; thus condemning the pensioners to one of their worst defeats of recent memories.

The entire Chelsea defence line led by Thiago Silva was taken to the cleaners, run ragged and exposed of which the Brazillian was called out for " not attacking well enough " by the commentator.

Belle Silva issued a fiery response on her Instagram story, after hearing the tirades against her husband

'I'm here in my box at Stamford Bridge, I just listened right now to the commentator who said that Thiago Silva is not attacking enough,' she said.

'Respect Thiago Silva because Thiago Silva arrived yesterday, Thiago Silva played for Brazil, Thiago Silva is very tired, Thiago Silva is 37 years old, he plays like he is 20 years old.

'So respect him, he's not a machine. He needs to relax, alright?'

The result further keeps Chelsea away from Manchester City and Liverpool though they remain firmly in the top 4, while Brentford further boosts their chances of surviving the drop after returning to the top flight of English football after many years in the lower rungs.
