Three-time African champions, Nigeria have progressed into the Round of 16 of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations following another dominant display on Saturday at the Roumdé Adjia Stadium, Garoua.

Coach Augustine Eguavoen's men built on the momentum from their opening group game against Egypt as they romped to a 3-1 victory this time against the Falcons of Sudan.

Goals from Samuel Chukwueze, Taiwo Awoniyi, and Moses Simon helped the Super Eagles to a convincing 3-1 win which sees them keeping their top position in Group D at least to the matchday three tie coming up in four days time.

The Super Eagles had begun their campaign with a superb 1-0 win over Egypt at the same venue, and they continued in the same vein on Saturday.

Though Sudan pulled a goal back from the penalty spot after a foul from Ola Aina, it was not enough to change the complexion of the game.
