Giannis may stay with the Bucks despite the insinuation that he will move on after the recent failure

NBA superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo is keeping his trademark sense of humour ahead of an uncertain offseason.
Milwaukee Bucks forward Bobby Portis appeared this week on FanDuel TV’s “Run It Back.” During the appearance, Portis was asked about the future of his star teammate Antetokounmpo.
“Giannis bleeds green,” Portis replied, referencing one of the Bucks’ team colours. “I think he wants to be that Tim Duncan, Kobe [Bryant], Steph Curry-type where they play with one franchise.”
Portis’ remarks drew the attention of the former MVP Antetokounmpo himself. Antetokounmpo issued a four-word response to speculation about his future in an Instagram comment.
“Don’t worry about me!” Antetokounmpo wrote.
The Greek Freak then jokingly attempted to shift the focus to Portis himself.
“What are you doing, Bobby? you staying or leaving?!” added Antetokounmpo with a laughing emoji.
Antetokounmpo is correct that his longtime teammate Portis has a decision to make of his own this summer. Portis can become a free agent by turning down his $13.4 million player option with the Bucks for next season.
But far more eyeballs will be on Antetokounmpo’s situation this offseason. While Antetokounmpo, 30, cannot become a free agent until summer 2027 at the earliest, the Bucks lost in the first round this season and will potentially be without Damian Lillard for all of next season due to his Achilles tear. Thus, trading Antetokounmpo for a treasure chest of future assets may be Milwaukee’s best play at this point, and rumours about Antetokounmpo’s supposed trade wishlist have already emerged.
