Black Stars of Ghana Head Coach Otto Addo has dismissed the list of players invited in circulation for the must-win Qatar 2022 World Cup match against the Super Eagles of Nigeria as mere Social Media speculation that must be ignored.

According to Addo’s confidant Karim Gruzah the list of players for the match is still a work in progress and the coach will not release it until a few days before the match.

Addo who has taken charge of the double-header against the Super Eagles will submit his final squad to the management team for perusal next week.

While Nigeria coach Augustine Eguavoen named his squad last week, his counterpart is yet to finalize his squad for the crunch tie.

Said Gruzah "We don't do the call-ups, it’s the job of the technical team and then submit it for review," he said

"What is circulating on social media is not our list, we have not released any list.  Next week, we will hold a meeting and see the way forward.

"We thank God that Addo and his men have successfully spoken to some players who had previously turned down our invitations. We just have to pray and support them."

With Captain Andre Ayew and forward Benjamin Tetteh set to miss the games due to suspension and the doubt over the availability of Kamaldeen Sulemana, Addo is not in a rush to release his squad.

Meanwhile, Mohammed Kudus is expected to return to the team after missing the Africa Cup of Nations due to injury.

Daniel Amartey, Thomas Partey and Jordan Ayew have been in communication with the German-trained gaffer, as a lot will depend on the trio for the doubleheader.

St Pauli midfielder Daniel-Kofi Kyereh is expected to play a key role following his outstanding form in the Bundesliga II.

Most of the players who featured for Ghana at the Africa Cup of Nations will be named in the team.

The Black Stars will host the Super Eagles on Friday, March 25, 2022, at the Cape Coast stadium before travelling to Abuja for the second leg in four days' time
