Ten matches were played at the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL on Saturday and Sunday as the 2023 season enters week four.

A total of 17 goals averaging 1.7 goals per game with three teams i.e Bendel Insurance, Enyimba, and Lobi Stars defeated their respective opponents by 3-0.

Bendel Insurance demystified Remo Stars on Saturday, with a 3-0 victory at the Samuel Ogemudia Stadium to open up a three points gap in their group.

Before this weekend, Remo Stars have won all their games, without conceding any goal. 

Enyimba of Aba returned to winning ways in style by beating Kwara United in Aba by 3-0 on Sunday, the last time won was in the first weekend when I picked all three points against Nasarawa United at the New Jos Stadium.

Kwara United is yet to win, and not score any goal in the campaign, stretching to 360 minutes of action in the league.

Lobi Stars needed three second-half goals to make a loud statement about their intention to qualify for the Super six as they despatched sorry Bayelsa United by 3-0 on Sunday evening. 

Three games ended with 1-0 each as Akwa United edged Plateau United to bolster their top 3 finishing chances while Shooting Stars and Sunshine Stars picked their first victory of the season by defeating Elkanemi and Abia Warriors by 1-0 respectively.

Rivers United shows class by recording the only away victory of the week. The Wike boys came from a goal down to beat Dakkads by 2-1 on Saturday to remain on top of their group.

Three matches ended in a draw as Nasarawa picked their point of the campaign with a 1-1 draw against Gombe.

Gombe United, however, scored their first goal season with a 1-1 scoreline. 

Rangers picked their first point away from home by playing a 0-0 draw with Niger Tornadoes, same barrenness of goals was witnessed in the match between Wikki Tourists and Doma United, with Wikki Tourists picking their first point of the season.
