Nautico vs Retro

A match in Brazil descended into chaos when a red-carded player went after the game's female referee.

Nautico took on Retro in the second leg of their Campeonato Pernambucano final clash.

Just 19 minutes into the contest, Nautico ace Jean Carlos was sent off following a lengthy VAR stoppage.

After being held back by Yuri Bigode as he tried to join an attack, Carlos threw his arm back at his opponent.

The incident was initially missed by the on-field officials but was reviewed.

Following a three-minute break in play, the referee came to her decision

Carlos was dramatically shown a red card, prompting a furious reaction.

He stormed towards the official to make his point heard.

Jogging backwards to avoid the angry player, the referee shoved Carlos away before he was held back by players from both teams, as well as a linesman.

Carlos had to be restrained by his team-mates all the way into the tunnel

After he eventually left the field, his side rallied without him.

They trailed 1-0 from the first-leg, but levelled the tie through Pedro Vitor's penalty.

Ten-man Nautico then went on to win the final, prevailing 4-2 in a penalty shoot-out.
