Folarin Balogun on the verge of English Premier League move

Monaco striker Folarin Balogun appears increasingly likely to leave Monaco, which could open the door for Mexican midfielder Erik Lira. Lira is waiting for the US striker to leave, and Balogun has already decided where he wants to go next. The USMNT forward wants to return to the English Premier League.

According to a respected source in Belgium, Balogun wants to join Everton. The Toffees have already submitted an offer of €18 million ($21 million) for the American striker.

Balogun has yet to play in Ligue 1 this season, and Monaco appears to have already found his replacement. Paris Brunner, a 20-year-old German forward, has scored three goals in three games for the club.

Balogun has attracted interest from several clubs since scoring three goals at the 2026 World Cup. One of his suitors is Serie A side Fiorentina, while several English clubs are also interested in the 25-year-old American.

Tottenham, Aston Villa and Newcastle have all been linked with the USMNT forward. He was even mentioned as a possible option for Barcelona, but that move now appears highly unlikely following the recent signing of Gabriel Jesus.

The European transfer window closes on Tuesday, September 1, leaving Monaco little time to finalise the American striker’s sale.
