Federation Cup: Kwara and Ebonyi Governors give players cash and land

Kwara United players get N5m each, plots of land each for winning the 2025 Federation Cup.
Kwara State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq made the donation during a grand reception for players and officials of the team in Ilorin on Monday.
The Harmony Boys defeated Abakaliki FC 4-3 on penalties in the final of the competition at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos last Saturday.
It was the first time Tunde Sanni’s side would be lifting the title.
The team arrived in Ilorin from Lagos on Monday morning and paraded the trophy around key parts of the capital.
Kwara United, by winning the competition, will represent Nigeria in the CAF Confederation Cup next season.
Elsewhere, Abakaliki FC players have been rewarded with a sum of N1m each for finishing as runners-up in the 2025 Federation Cup.
The Ebonyi State governor, Nwifuru Francis, donated after receiving the players at a reception in Abakaliki on Monday.
It would be recalled that Abakaliki FC lost to Kwara United in the final but recorded an impressive outing in the tournament with wins over Enyimba, Nasarawa United, Katsina United and Ikorodu City.
They also received a cash prize of N20 million for reaching the final.
