Fabregas speaks on signing Dele Alli for Como

Como manager Cesc Fabregas has revealed why he decided to give Dele Alli, who recently joined Como, a new beginning.
Fabregas said, “He’s been out for a long time and is now working with us. The club wanted him here. I see him fitting well in Nico Paz’s role. We’re trying to help him recover and return to a high level, then it will be up to the club.”
Alli has put pen to paper on a deal at a new club, valid until June 2026 with an option for a further season, according to a report.
The news comes just a month after he announced his departure from Everton in an emotional statement.
The former Tottenham and England star spent two years with the Toffees, including a loan spell with Turkish outfit Besiktas in 2022-23.
Now, he will take his talents to Serie A and look to rebuild his career at Como.
Alli will join the team, managed by ex-Arsenal and Barcelona icon Fabregas, and look to assist them in their battle to avoid relegation, as they lie 16th in the table and one point from safety.
He has made just 17 professional appearances in the last three seasons. He last played competitively in February 2023 during his loan spell with Besiktas.
The two-time PFA Young Player of the Year was on trial with Como at the end of last year, as they assessed his fitness and waited to offer him a permanent contract.
Their verdict has now landed and Alli will reportedly join Fabregas' side imminently.
