Manchester City are leaving nothing to chance in the race for the Premier League title and they produced another ruthless display Wednesday night at the Molineux Stadium.

Kevin de Bruyne grabbed the headlines as he scored four times; helping Manchester City to crush Wolverhampton 5-1 to move closer to defending their Premier League crown on Wednesday night.

The Belgian, who has been in good form in recent weeks, stole the show at Molineux Stadium, hitting a hat-trick inside the opening 24 minutes.

De Bryune's fourth on the night came on the hour mark before Raheem Sterling rounded up the goals feast with fifth goal late in the second half.

Wednesday's win firmly puts City in the drivers' seat going into the last two matches of the season.

Pep Guardiola's men currently lead the table on 89 points, three ahead of Liverpool, who beat Aston Villa 2-1 on Tuesday night.

Elsewhere, Alex Iwobi and his Everton teammates laboured to a barren draw against relegated Watford at Vicarge.

Though the solitary point gives the Toffees a two- point advantage above the drop zone, Frank Lampard would have preferred nicking all the three points against the Hornets.

While Everton couldn't get the best off their already relegated opponents, it was completely different in the game between Leicester City and Norwich City.

The Foxes hammered the Canneries 3-0 with Jamie Carey hitting a brace in the encounter.

Chelsea also recorded an identical scoreline against relegation threatened Leeds United.

Thomas Tuchel's charges got off to a perfect start as Mason Mount gave them the lead inside three minutes, beautifully curling his effort past the keeper into the top corner.

Christian Pulisic and Romelu Lukaku scored a goal each to all but confirm Champions League Football for the Blues next season.

The big win is also a dress rehearsal for the FA Cup final against Liverpool at Wembley this weekend.
