Emergency agent Mikel Obi travels to Turkey to convince Osimhen to reject Arsenal and join Chelsea

Former Super Eagles captain and Chelsea midfielder John Mikel Obi flew over to Istanbul Monday to meet with Galatasaray on loan striker Victor Osimhen for discussions on his next club.
This is coming on the heels of reports linking Osimhen with a move to Arsenal this January, but Mikel who has never hidden his wish to see his compatriot at Stamford Bridge met Osimhen during training to remind him that Chelsea is very much interested in having him in West London.
Mikel and former teammate Didier Drogba who also had a stint with Galatasaray are all rooting for Osimhen to join the Blues, even as several clubs are chasing his signature, including Manchester United who tried earlier in January, but Osimhen was not interested in speaking to them.
This week Arsenal are said to be preparing a bid before the January window runs out, and it seems most likely that may not happen as well. Osimhen had made it clear he would only listen to offers at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, former Premier League top striker Darren Bent has claimed that Osimhen's move to Arsenal may not work.
“Yes, he was good at Napoli, but maybe his attitude has been questioned on occasions, that’s still a risk,” said Bent who was at the top of his game with Aston Villa before retiring at 35.
“I just don’t think you can just go out there and guarantee, right, we know he’s the guy who’s going to go and score 20, 25 goals.”
