Top-ranked players on the Snooker and Pool Players Alliance of Nigeria (SPPA) leaders board have been invited to play in the maiden edition of the Royal Crown Club Open Chinese 8 Ball tournament in Dubai, UAE.

The tournament which is open to all the affiliates of Joy Billiards Sports Promotion Company China; the promoter of the Chinese Eight Ball Pool will hold from the 9th-11th of April at the Dragon Mart 2, ground floor in Dubai.

President of the SPPA,  Joachim Idada who announced the news of the invitation from the organizers of the Dubai tournament said the participation of Nigerian players in the tournament aligns with the vision of the SPPA. 

"The participation of the SPPA in the Dubai tournament is in line with the vision of the alliance which is to expose Nigerian Pool Players to the international circuit".

He appealed to corporate Nigeria to partner and sponsor the programmes of the SPPA which are lined up for the year 2022 as some of the local tournaments organized by SPPA will serve as qualifiers for the Joy Billiards Hayball ( Chinese Pool) masters which will hold in China later in the year.

" Our platform will prepare our members for a potential international career," He said.

Some of the top-ranked SPPA players expected to port in the Dubai tournament are Oluwole Abayomi,  Oghenekaro Ekewenu, Demola Lawal, Wale Osomo and Christopher Abiodun. 

It would be recalled that earlier in the year the Joy Billiards Sports Promotion Company and their partner International Chinese Eight Ball Pool Association ( ICEA) announced a $3.1m prize money for their events in 2022.

Snooker and Pool Players Alliance of Nigeria (SPPA) , Royal Crown Club, Dubai and some other affiliates of Joy Billiards Sports Promotion Company globally are expected to partake in the bounty cash offer.
