English Premier League giants, Arsenal are leaving no stone unturned to get a good replacement for out of favour striker, Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang, 234sportsng.com can report.
Feelers from the Emirates revealed that manager Mikel Arteta believes Nigeria's Victor Osimhen has the opportunity to become a far better striker at 23, and he is prepared to break the bank for the Napoli forward next summer as the Spaniard prepares for a massive overhaul of his squad.
Aubameyang had dropped to an all-time low in the pecking order of striker at the club and he is expected to move elsewhere on deadline day after the Gabonese was dropped from the club's tour of Dubai.
Besides, the duo of Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah will be out of contracts at the end of the season and with the former most likely facing an exit door, Arteta is bent on bringing Osimhen whom the club described as the best replacement for Aubameyang.
Although iNews.id reported on Monday that Arsenal may be stopped in their tracts given how much the former Lille would cost, the Londoners are willing to raise cash from players' sales to foot the bill.
Osimhen became Africa's most expensive player after his money-spinning move from Lille to Naples in August 2020 which was worth around 81.3 million euros.
The Super Eagles striker missed the Nigerian party to 2021 AFCON in Cameroon on the healthy ground but has since returned to active football when he came in as a substitute in Napoli's last two games.
It remains to be seen how Arsenal intends to bring in the 23-years old forward who is rated as one of the hottest strikers in Europe this season with the rating of 16 finishes in front of goal, 18 tries, 17 acceleration, 19 speed, and 16 strength.
