Confederation Cup: Cotonou Club ousts El Kanemi Warriors FC

El Kanemi Warriors FC of Maiduguri has been thrown out of this year's CAF Confederation Cup competition in the first round.

The Warriors were kicked out of the event on Saturday in Cotonou by Dadje FC 3-2 on aggregate.

Dadje won the second leg decided at General Mathieu Kerekou Stadium in Cotonou by 2-1 to get a 3-2 aggregate win after the first leg played last week at the Remo Stadium ended 1-1.

To drum up support for Dadje FC, the Benin Republic Football Federation issued about 8,000 free tickets to their fans to ensure Dadje FC, runners-up to the country’s league gets maximum support ahead of the crucial second leg encounter.

The elimination of El Kanemi Warriors FC from the CAF Confederation Cup means only Enyimba is left to fight for glory.
