Esperance Sportive de Tunis club will play their next two matches behind closed doors according to the disciplinary of the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) in addition they will also pay a fine of Impose a fine of 20,000 USD (Twenty Thousand American Dollars)

Esperance Sportive de Tunis was charged with spectator misbehaviour after their supporters threw objects on the field during their CAF Champions League matches against Etoile Sportive du Sahel played on February 26, 2022 and March 12, 2022.

The matches are to be played behind closed doors are Esperance Sportive de Tunis vs. CR Belouizdad (Algeria) scheduled for April 2, 2022 and Esperance Sportive de Tunis Quarterfinals home fixture.

It will be recalled that Esperance Sportive de Tunis had previously received a suspended sanction for a similar offence during the semi-final of the CAF Champions League 2020/2021 season against Al Ahly (Egypt). 

Etoile Sportive du Sahel were also charged with spectator misbehaviour after their supporters threw objects on the field including handrails during their CAF Champions League fixture 12 March 12, 2022 against Esperance Sportive de Tunis.

The club had a previous offence when they were found guilty on February 17, 2022, on charges of spectator misbehaviour and fined 7500 USD.

Given this decision and previous conviction, CAF Disciplinary Board decided:

Because they are serial offenders CAF has ordered Etoile Sportive du Sahel to play their next CAF interclub competition match as host club behind closed doors, for the unacceptable behaviour of their supporters. The affected match is their group stage match against Jwaneng Galaxy Botswana scheduled on 01 April 1, 2022, they will also pay a fine of 10,000 USD.

Moroccan club RS ​​Berkane was also sanctioned by the disciplinary board. During their CAF Confederation Cup fixture against Simba of Tanzania in Morocco, RS Berkane fans threw objects on the field.

They were fined 8000 USD.

Also an official of RS ​​Berkane, Majid Madrane, who invaded the pitch and incited his players and officials to join him in protesting and attacking the referee during the match against Simba has been suspended for a period of twelve (12) months from any football activity related to CAF and a 100,000 USD.

Tunisian Club Sportif Sfaxien was charged with a similar offence during their match against Pyramids of Egypt on March 13, 2022. The disciplinary board imposed a fine of 16 000 USD on the club.
