Brighton & Hove Albion have intensified their pursuit of Calvin Bassey by initiating contact with Ajax.

After having their offer for Levi Colwill rejected by Chelsea, the Seagulls turned to Super Eagles and Ajax defender, Calvin Bassey.

On Monday, it was reported that the Premier League team was keeping an eye on Bassey.

Transfer market expert, Fabrizio Romano, disclosed that Brighton has begun negotiations with Ajax for the Nigerian.

Calvin Bassey endured a rather difficult start to life in the Eredivisie and received criticism from former Ajax players.

He however got back to form before the end of last season and now, a move is on the cards to the English Premier League.

A Turkish Super Lig club, Trabzonspor, has emerged as a potential destination for Super Eagles and Southampton forward Paul Onuachu. Onuachu has expressed his desire to depart from Southampton after the team’s relegation from the Premier League.

Southampton had acquired the Forward’s services for a transfer fee of €18 million from KRC Genk in the Belgian Pro League in January. However, the Nigerian was unable to score in 11 league appearances for the Saints.

Meanwhile, his potential departure has caught the attention of several German clubs, who would be looking to get him on a cut-price deal.

Borussia Monchengladbach has also, reportedly, made contact with Southampton regarding the striker.

Additionally, VfB Stuttgart and Schalke 04 have shown interest in the Player

.Elsewhere, according to Adana Demirspor President Murat Sancak, the decision to sign Henry Onyekuru on a permanent contract was driven by the player’s impressive performance and impact during his loan spell. Onyekuru initially joined Adana Demirspor on loan from Olympiacos in the Greek Super League last summer and during the course of the week.

The move was made permanent after Adana paid an agreed €3.5 million to Olympiacos for a three-year contract.

“We had to take up the option that was contained in our agreement that we do so should we qualify to play in Europe,” Sancak told the club’s official website.

Last season for Adana Demirspor, Henry Onyekuru contributed eight goals and two assists in 30 appearances across various competitions.
