Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has brushed the Barcelona links aside claiming that he is 'proud' and 'happy' with his managerial role at Arsenal.

The Catalan chiefs are reportedly eyeing up Arteta as a replacement for Xavi who failed to help Barcelona secure Champions League last-16 qualification.

Meanwhile, Arteta received a huge boost on the injury front as Bukayo Saka and Oleksandr Zinchenko were both pictured in training ahead of Arsenal's final Europa league match against FC Zurich.

Saka, 21, was forced off with a leg injury during the 5-0 Nottingham Forest thrashing, while Zinchenko hasn't featured for almost five weeks.

Speaking ahead of Arsenal's clash with FC Zurich, Arteta said: "No [I don't make anything of it]. What I can say is I'm extremely happy and proud to be where I am.

"I think Barcelona are in a really good path and [have] a phenomenal coach that has been an absolute legend in that club and has lifted the whole place and you have to be respectful of that."

Arteta also confirmed that Bukayo Saka has overcome his injury concern and could play against Zurich.

The Spaniard also provided a fitness update on Oleksandr Zinchenko and Mohamed Elneny following their recent absence.

He said: “Bukayo just missed one or two sessions and was fine today.

“They are at different stages obviously. Mo (Elneny) had a long-term injury but he has recovered now in a really good way and has been training with the team for a week or two now.

“Alex (Zinchenko) is just very recent and he’s had two training sessions.”
