Alozie signs new deal with Houston Dash as Ucheibe makes Team of the Season in Portugal

Super Falcons defender Michelle Alozie has signed a new two-year contract with NWSL club, Houston Dash.

The new contract will commence on January 1, 2025.

The contract includes a mutual option for the 2027 NWSL regular season.

The 27-year-old joined Dash in 2021 and has become a key player ever since she arrived at the club.

Alozie said she is delighted to continue her journey with the club.

“Houston will always hold a special place in my heart; this is where I began my professional career and earned so many opportunities to grow off the field,” she told the club’s official website.

“I’m optimistic about the future of the organization and want to contribute to this club’s success. I am cognizant of the work ahead and I’m thrilled to be a part of this team for years to come.”

The right-back has appeared in 54 games across all competitions for Houston Dash.

She has scored six goals and tallied two assists for the club.

Elsewhere, Super Falcons midfielder, Christy Ucheibe, has been named in the Portuguese Women’s League Team of the Season for 2023/24.

Ucheibe played a crucial role in the Eagles successful campaign last term.

Benfica won all four domestic titles in Portugal ( Campeonato Nacional, Taça de Portugal, and Taça da Liga, and Campeonato Nacional II Divisão).

Six other Benfica players also made the selection.

They are, Lúcia Alves, Andreia Faria, Beatriz Cameirão Andreia Norton and Kika Nazareth.

Ucheibe took the social media to celebrate her inclusion in the team.
