All to play for as Liverpool host Man Utd
Liverpool vs Man United

Liverpool and Manchester United will face each other at Anfield on Sunday afternoon hoping to secure all three points from this contest.

The Reds come into the match on the back of a 2-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers while the Red Devils recorded a splendid 3-1 victory over West Ham United in the FA Cup.

Jurgen Klopp will probably opt for a 4-3-3 formation and is expected to name a strong first XI for this match-up. Diogo Jota could drop to the bench making way for Cody Gakpo down the middle while Andrew Robertson replaces Konstantinos Tsimikas in the left-back position.

Erik Ten Hag will probably also opt for the 4-3-3 formation with a couple of tweaks from the last game as Raphael Varane looks likely to make his way back into the starting eleven while Wout Weghorst leads the line down the middle.

The Merseyside club will be without the services of Thiago Alcantara, Luis Diaz, Joe Gomez and Calvin Ramsay who are all set to miss out due to their respective injuries, while Naby Keita’s knock will need assessing although it is certain that he would not be able to recover in time for this weekend’s contest.

United have several confirmed absentees of their own as Anthony Martial, Donny van de Beek and Christian Eriksen remain in the treatment room, while Mason Greenwood has still not returned to full fitness so he remains doubtful of being available.

However, Luke Shaw and Jadon Sancho could recover just in time to push for a start at Old Trafford.
