Algeria will be looking to complete a double over Cameroon in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification – third-round – match on Tuesday.

The game is scheduled to be played at the Mustapha Tchaker Stadium in the Algerian city of Blida which is is known as the city of roses.

The Desert Foxes secured a 1-0 win over Cameroon in the first-leg game with Islam Slimani’s 40th-minute goal inspiring the Algerians to a victory.

Algeria will now be keen to avoid a defeat in order to qualify for the World Cup finals in Qatar in what would be their fifth appearance in the global tournament.

Sporting Lisbon centre forward Slimani and Manchester City star Riyad Mahrez are the dangermen for coach Djamel Belmadi’s side.



Meanwhile, Cameroon are wounded at the moment and they are determined to overcome the deficit when they face the Desert Foxes.

The Indomitable Lons have qualified seven times for the FIFA World Cup finals, more than any other African team.

Cameroon will have to find a way to secure a win in Algeria in order to book their spot in the 2022 edition and extend their record to eight appearances.

Gambian match official Bakary Gassama will be in charge of this eagerly anticipated encounter between two former African champions.

The last time Algeria played host to Cameroon was in October 2016.

The two teams played to a 1-1 draw in the 2018 World Cup qualifier which was played at the Mustapha Tchaker Stadium.
