Aiteo Cup: No upsets as Enyimba FC, other NPFL teams through to the next round

The 2022 Aiteo cup which is traditionally noted for upsets failed to produce any, in the round of 64 in the men's category on Saturday as Enyimba and other Nigeria Professional Football League teams brushed aside their lower-rated opponents and qualified for the next round.

Dakkada walked over Rivers United as the newly crowned Nigeria Champions failed to show up for their encounter while Enyimba avoided a scare after playing a 1-1 draw with Ijebu United but scale through by 3-2 after a penalty shot out thanks to the heroics of Ojo Olorunleke who saved three of the Ijebu based team's penalty during the shootout.

Akwa United made a light work of Essien Ayi FC as the Essien's boys fell to the superior power of the 2017 champions by 3-0.

Nasarawa put four I replied goals past Eaglets FC to secure their next in the round of 32.

Other NPFL sides that book their next round on Saturday are Plateau United, Kano Pillars, Gombe United, Doma United and Remo Stars after they all secured victories over their less fancied opponents
