Super Eagles and Fatih Karagümruk winger, Ahmed Musa says winning the 2021 African Cup Nations diadem will be the best parting gift he can get from teammates after he formally rules himself out of the next edition.
Fielding questions from journalists on Monday, the former Leicester City winger declared that this year's edition would be his last for Nigeria but did not rule out any chances of playing in the 2021 Qatar World Cup if invited by the national team managers.
"I think this is my last AFCON In sha'Allah. I talked to the boys that this is the only gift that you can give to me because this is my last AFCON.
" I said that because AFCON comes up every two years, then in the next two years I don't think I'll be in the national team, but we still have another tournament, the World Cup, so if we qualify, I will return if the coach decides to call me.
"In another two years I don't think I can make it to AFCON, so that's why I'm saying this is my last AFCON," he told the media on Monday.
The former Lokomotiv Moscow striker is optimistic of Nigeria's chance of winning her fourth AFCON trophy in Cameroon as Super Eagles with a mouth-watering clash against The Pharaohs of Egypt on the menu.
"As you can see what the head coach said we are ready, we are just waiting for tomorrow (Tuesday) and I know we are going to end up in the final and win the Cup because everyone knows the importance of winning the trophy," he said.

The "Governor" has 103 caps to his credit in his 12 years campaign in Super Eagles colour, and AFCON 2021 is set to be his third appearance at the African soccer fiesta.
