Sunshine Stars Head Coach, Edith Olumide Agoye has expressed disappointment over the Oyo state government and the management of Shooting Stars' delay in redeeming the pledge made shortly after he tendered his resignation letter from Shooting Stars on August 10, 2022.

Recall that Agoye after nine years with Shooting Stars parted ways on mutual consent with Shooting Stars Sports Club under Babatunde Olaniyan 'Akoro'.

Owing to Agoye's nine years with the Oluyole Warriors where he served as an assistant coach and head coach and apart from guiding the team to pick a promotion ticket back to the elite league in the 2020/21 season, after four unsuccessful attempts.

The Management of Shooting Stars through a letter signed by Olaniyan had promised to send Agoye on a trip to the United Kingdom for a higher coaching course, as a way of appreciating his immense contributions to the team, with a promise by Oyo State Government to bankroll it.

The state government under Seyi Makinde, however, had not yet fulfilled the pledge till date.

Speaking on Fresh FM 105.9 Sports Morning Show Agoye fondly called 'Eshin' lamented how Olaniyan had refused to pick up calls and reply to his messages regarding the pledge.

"When I was about to leave my position at the club, the club chairman and commissioner for Youth and Sports promised to send me for UEFA B license in Europe and all the money I was owed over nine years will be paid. I can tell you, as of this morning, nothing has been done."

"The worst thing is that I kept on calling the Chairman and has not pick up. Also, he refused to reply to my messages. It is unbelievable that they can treat me like this after all I've done for the club but I know one day I will get my money because I worked for it.

Meanwhile, after matchday nine in the Nigeria Premier Football League, Sunshine Stars currently occupy the second position with 15 points after four wins, three draws and two losses.
