Agbonlahor adds salt to Klopp’s injury

The issue facing Liverpool this season isn’t just their results, but their performances more than anything are worrying.

Nigeria born English star Gabby Agbonlahor couldn’t help himself but jibe at Jurgen Klopp after his Liverpool side were thrashed 4-1 at Napoli in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

The former striker poked fun at the Reds and suggested the ‘grass isn’t green enough’ or the ‘pitch is too wide’, that’s why Liverpool lost, as he posted on Twitter.

A number of weeks ago, when Manchester United were thrashed at Brentford, Agbonlahor proceeded to criticise the mentality of Erik ten Hag’s players.

It seemed as though Klopp was listening to his comments whilst travelling back home and he didn’t take too kindly to what he had to say.

As a result, he called out the former Aston Villa man for not showcasing that ‘mentality monster’ when his Liverpool team won 6-0 at Villa Park with Agbonlahor on the pitch, as he told Sky Sports.

Nonetheless, as the goals were hitting the back of the net in Napoli, these are the series of tweets Agbonlahor posted.

I blame the pitch it’s too wide and too long and the grass isn’t green enough

The issue facing Liverpool this season isn’t just their results, but their performances more than anything are worrying.

It could be argued that, from the regulars, the ones that are out-of-form are Andy Robertson, Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jordan Henderson and Mo Salah.

Added with that, Joe Gomez was hauled off at half-time against Napoli, whilst Darwin Nunez is still trying to get his feet warm.

And then Liverpool are being forced to play James Milner a lot more, something that doesn’t sit well with Jamie Carragher, who shared that shouldn’t be the case.
