From Kenyans Faith Kipyegon and Emmanuel Korir to Ethiopia's Berihu Aregawi and Uganda's Jacob Kiplimo, the Wanda Diamond League meeting at Herculis Monaco will be packed with the very best of the world's middle and long-distance superstars.

Africa's finest middle and long distance stars are set to descend on the Cote d'Azur on July 21st for the ninth Wanda Diamond League meeting of the season at Herculis EBS Monaco.

Two-time Olympic and world champion Faith Kipyegon will be the headline star in the women's 1500m, as she bids for a fourth career Diamond Trophy in 2023. The Kenyan legend claimed her third Wanda Diamond League title in 2023, and will be out to emulate the form which saw her take a stunning win over Dutch rival Sifan Hassan in Monaco last year.

Fellow Diamond League champion Emmanuel Korir will also be flying the flag for Kenya in Monaco, as he too eyes a fourth title this summer in the men's 800m. Korir has not won in Monaco since his first ever Diamond League victory back in 2017.

Elsewhere Uganda's Olympic bronze medallist Jacob Kiplimo will take on 2021 Wanda Diamond League champion Berihu Aregawi in the men's 5000m. Ethiopia's Aregawi lost his title in 2022, but managed to set a meeting record of 12:50.05 in Eugene.

The Wanda Diamond League Stockholm is the seventh leg of athletics' premier one-day meeting series. The WDL comprises 14 of the most prestigious events in global track and field. Athletes compete for points at the 13 series meetings in a bid to qualify for the two-day Wanda Diamond League Final in Eugene on 16th-17th September.
