AFCON: Oliseh believes Eagles can go all the way
Sunday Oliseh

Using our performances against Egypt as a benchmark former Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh believes our boys can overcome Sudan on Saturday, beat Guinea-Bissau to top their group, and go all the way to excel at the Afcon.

Oliseh a former teammate of current Eagles coach Austin Eguavoen said our boys have started well under him, he single out forward Moses Simon for his resplendent performances against Egypt.

“Technically, tactically, physically, mentally and whatever positively you can think of, Eguavoen’s Super Eagles I feel dominated Egypt,” Oliseh tweeted.

“The best performance in recent years. At this rate, we can be extremely optimistic my people. Moses Simon player of the match?”

“Egypt is not a weak side at all — it’s a respected side coached by one of the top coaches in the world. And then one of the best players in the world [Salah] is in that team — so you cannot say it’s a weak side,” he said after the win. It’s a very strong wide. We also worked so hard day in, day out, tactically and physically, and gave the boys so much confidence. Always respect your opponents but don’t be scared. Respect your opponents and play your game — feel free to enjoy yourself. That was the game plan.”

Scorer of Eagles’ goal against Egypt Kelechi Iheanacho is optimistic that they will beat Sudan.

“Egypt game was a challenge we successfully overcame,” Iheanacho said. “All we can think about now is how to beat Sudan and Guinea-Bissau in the next two games.”

“It was a massive win for us. We prepared and worked so hard for this game and we are happy with the result. This is surely a good start for us and I hope it will help us in subsequent games,” he said

.“We were not scared of the Egyptians. We studied them very well and it showed our performance. This is a good start for us and Nigerians can be sure we will do our best in this competition.

Captain Ahmed Musa said all players have resolved to give their best for the nation “because the journey to the trophy is still a long way off with many hurdles to be scaled along the way.”

Maduka Okoye team goalkeeper said winning is the dream that all the players are working toward,

Only one thing will make it all worth it: winning the Afcon Cup.

“We fought for a long time to be able to take part in this tournament,” Okoye told RP online as per Fupa. “Now, of course, we also want to give everything that is in us. Our goal is to get the trophy.”
