AFCON Day Six Round-Up: Gabon deny Black Stars as Morocco, Malawi pick vital wins

The disappointing run of Ghana's Black Stars at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon continued on Friday as they battled to a 1-1 draw against Gabon.
Captain Andre Ayew had given the Black Stars a good start with his brilliant first-half goal but he and his teammates failed to build on the advantage they initially enjoyed.
In the end, it proved costly as Ghana were denied the victory they badly needed when Jim Allevinah drove the ball into the bottom corner to give Gabon a crucial point barely three minutes to the end of the game.
The drama didn't finish there, however, with Andre Ayew and the Ghana team appearing to erupt in fury at the Gabon coach after the final whistle.
That resulted in a brawl in which Ghana's Benjamin Tetteh appeared to punch a Gabon player then retreat down the tunnel.
The Algerian referee then flashed a red card after being prevented by security from following him.
These ugly scenes is another low for the AFCON tournament already being ridiculed by comical errors by officials and poor display by the teams.
In the other Group C tie also played on Friday, Morocco booked their place in the last 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations following a 2-0 victory over Comoros.
The Atlas Lions opened the scoring in the first half when Selim Amallah fired in a loose ball.
They doubled the lead through Zakaria Aboukhlal who slotted in to complete the win for the Atlas Lions in the last minute.
Comoros keeper Salim Ben Boina put in a hugely impressive display but could not prevent a defeat for the debutants.
Morocco have maximum points from their opening two games and are looking good to challenge for the title with the likes of Nigeria and neighbours Algeria.
Also on Friday Guinea held Senegal to a barren draw; a result that should be enough to see both sides in the second round depending on how things panned out in the other groups.
While Naby Keita was for the second successive game voted man-of-the-match, his Liverpool teammate Sadio Mane was largely anonymous for the Teranga Lions.
The day's other game saw Malawi coming from behind to record a historic win over Zimbabwe.
