Abraham join Okafor, Tomori and Chukwueze at AC Milan

The number of Nigerian players at AC Milan increased to four over the weekend as the club officially announced the signing of former England international Tammy Abraham on a season-long loan deal from Serie A rivals Roma.
Before his arrival, Noah Okafor, Fikayo Tomori and Samuel Chukwueze are all on the payroll of the San Siro giant.
The former Chelsea striker joins the Rossoneri on a straight loan deal, without an option to buy, so will remain a Milan player until June 30, 2025.
Milan has confirmed that he will wear the No. 90 shirt for the 2024-25 season.
The announcement of his signing follows Roma’s acquisition of Alexis Saelemaekers, who has joined the Giallorossi from Milan in a separate loan deal. The two clubs had been negotiating a form of swap-deal, but were unable to agree in time, so proceeded with temporary deals instead.
Abraham becomes Paulo Fonseca’s fifth new signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Alvaro Morata from Atletico Madrid, Strahinja Pavlovic from RB Salzburg, Youssouf Fofana from Monaco and Emerson Royal from Tottenham.
Reports on Friday suggested that Abraham could even be included in the Milan squad for Saturday evening’s match against Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico.
Abraham is now in his fourth season in Serie A. He began life in Italy productively with 17 goals from 37 Serie A matches in 2021-22 but only managed eight from 38 the following year.
He was then struck down by an unfortunate cruciate ligament injury on the final day of the 2022-23 season, which limited him to just eight Serie A appearances in 2023-24.
