CAFCC: Enyimba have a herculean task against Zamalek on Sunday
Enyimba International of Aba are up against Egyptian giants Zamalek on Sunday in a CAF Confederation Cup match at home.
Given the former African champions' form in recent games in Nigeria and on the continent, many are not optimistic they will surmount the herculean task but Enyimba midfielder, Clinton Jephta has assured that the People’s Elephant will beat holders, Zamalek in their CAF Confederation Cup clash.
Yemi Olanrewaju’s side will host the North Africans in a Group D encounter at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Sunday.
The Aba giants started their group stage campaign with a loss to another Egyptian club, Al Masry.
Jephta is however in a bullish mood ahead of the clash with Zamalek.
“Our spirit is very high, we are prepared for tomorrow’s (today) game.
“For sure we are going to win the game. That I can assure our fans,” he told a press conference.
“We have the quality and have been working so hard to achieve our objective.
“We will go far in the competition. Our main target is to reach at least the semi-final.”
Zamalek arrived in Uyo on Friday night ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup Group D clash against Enyimba.
The Egyptians defeated Mozambique’s Black Bulls 2-0 in their first group game.
Enyimba suffered a 2-0 loss to another Egyptian outfit, Al Masry, on matchday one.
Black Bulls will entertain Al Masry in the group’s other game also on Sunday.
The top teams in the group will qualify for the quarterfinals.
